9 o'clock - a more traditonal service
We provide a more traditional service, normally following Common Worship, but using a mixture of old and new hymns and songs. The congregation is generally older, but not exclsuively so, and is very friendly and supportive of one another.
There is a separate leadership team which provides pastoral care and support as well as formulating the content of the meetings. Our preaching themes are sometimes taken from the prescribed Lectionary readings, but more often than not we decide our own topics and readings, to reflect the needs of the congregation, hopefully in a relevant and interesting way.
Members of the congregation take part in the services, providing bible readings; intercessions and music.
We also do quite a lot socially, not only by meeting for coffee/tea after the meeting on a Sunday, but by arranging meals out, BBQs, and visits to the theatre. In 2007 we also arranged for the first time, a week-end away at Grange-over Sands, taking over a christian run hotel. The venture was so succesful we are arranging another visit in May 2009.
