under 5 group

St Mark's Parish Church serves not only the Parish of Utley but also a membership that covers an area stretching out as far as Skipton and Bradford.

Some of our congregation regularly work as far away as Leeds and Manchester, or even have employment that takes them overseas. We are part of the South Craven Deanery in the Bradford Diocese of the Church of England.

Members are encouraged to identify with one congregation - whether a Sunday congregation or the Mid-Week or Friday congregations - to build a greater commitment to shared community. The church is increasingly organising around individual congregations each of which has its own leadership team.

St Mark's building in Utley

The church building is amazingly compact and dates back to 1889 when it was established as a daughter church of St. Andrew's, Keighley.

The original building has been substantially added to and the interior was re-ordered in 1982 to facilitate the demands of modern worship. About 200 people worship with us on an average Sunday, excluding visitors.

Welcome to St Marks!

church windowSt Mark's, Utley is a lively, supportive, God-centred church family. Whatever your age, background, life situation, there’s a place for you. Together we’re seeking to honour Jesus and share his love with our friends and neighbours and further afield. We are glad to welcome newcomers.

What will you find here?

Vibrant worship and strong Bible teaching …great kids’ work…small groups for study, prayer and friendship…concern for mission and issues of justice, fair trade and debt…

What matters to us?

We describe our vision as "Serving Christ, One Another and The World".  In other words, we think worship, community and mission are all important!

Come & Join Us!

Rather than expect Church members to attend services and events on many occasions through the week, we encourage everyone to be part of one congregation and participate in that and its associated events.  For that reason Sunday is not always the day of the week that Church members choose to worship.  Services are held on the following days:

Sunday, 9am Congregation
A quieter, more traditional service, but including new songs as well as older familiar hymns.

10.30am Family Service - All Age Worship
Plenty for the youngest members of the family as well as the oldest. Children up to the age of 8 leave the service after the first 15-20 minutes to go to their own groups.

6.30pm Congregation
An opportunity to reflect on God's word, enjoy more contemporary worship and minister to each other's needs.

Wednesday, 1pm Midweek Congregation
A chance in the week to meet with God, worship Him, study His word and spend time with Him in prayer. A bring-and-share lunch is served from noon.

8pm - The Friday Service

A café style service which normally meets in the Roebuck public house on Skipton Road opposite the Church hall.
